Exploring Geometry and Measurement

This collection of Sketchpad activities addresses geometry and geometric measurement concepts, and allows for deep engagement with these areas designated as critical for Grades 3 and 4 in the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics:

• develop understanding of the structure of rectangular arrays and of area (Grade 3)
• describe and analyze two-dimensional shapes (Grade 3)
• understand that geometric figures can be analyzed and classified based on their properties, such as having parallel sides, perpendicular sides, particular angle measures, and symmetry (Grade 4)
